How big is the boat Sealife V and what facilities are on board?

  • An oxygen unit.

Travel

Where does the vessel Sealife V pickup from and how may I access these pickup points?
We have two pickup points north and south of the harbor.
On the south side we pickup at Rose Bay Wharf which is located inside Lyne Park found along New South Head Road at Rose Bay (approx 20min drive from City centre) and can be reached by the Rose Bay ferry, from Circular Quay, or by the Watson's Bay bus route, numbers 324 & 325, which also departs Circular Quay.
See here for ferry timetables
See here for times of the 324 & 325 bus routes (intermittently, the 323 can be used).
Journeys to Rose Bay can take 10 to 15 minutes by ferry; 45 minutes by bus (bus travel can be traffic dependent - please provide enough time for traffic delays!).
Taxis are also an option for travellers from Sydney's CBD - a taxi trip to Rose Bay may cost as much as AU$40.
Parking at Rose Bay is available - unlimited parking may be found directly out the front of the Lyne Park public amenities block (west side); all other parking zones within Lyne Park are 1hr - it is recommended that dive customers driving to Lyne Park, Rose Bay, use the 4 hr zones found intermittently along the adjacent main road, New South Head Road.
On the north side of the harbour we pick up at Manly Yacht Club, a short walk from Manly Ferry Terminus. Facing back towards Sydney on this terminus, you'll observe a pathway on your left leading around to the Yacht Club jetty - one of the small finger wharves jutting from the shore.

Thank you Cody! It was really nice to dive with you ;) You're all a real fun nice crowd by Joachim Muth - 24-Mar-2024

As always an absolute pleasure to dive with Pro dive. The team is amazingly friendly, skilled and driven to make this your best dive experience. Obviously the team can't influence the marine life and conditions, but everything was perfect this time. My group was led by Eric and he made sure that we see all the amazing little things. The dive debriefs afterwards are a pleasure as well. by Pascal Westers - 23-Mar-2024

Great workout! Great crew! Thanks for leading the dive Eric and the debrief thereafter. by Matthew Thurn - 23-Mar-2024

Eric, Cody, Bella, Dean and our DMT were great as usual! Thanks for doing the dive debriefs Eric - I firmly believe that they are very good for business. Also, can we get bilateral wind and water plastic shielding back for the boat please? by Matthew Thurn - 16-Mar-2024

I was on my first DMT assist dive and was partnered with Jacqui. It was an absolute pleasure being part of that dive, they really do know what they are doing. Whilst being 100% percent professional they also know how to have fun. Thanks for being awesome by Ashley Rayner - 10-Mar-2024

Great day of diving. Excellent vibe on the boat too. by Philip Clare - 10-Mar-2024

Long Reef/The Apartments - Shark Dive

Depth:25m Rating:Blue

Located North of Sydney Harbour. The main site at Long Reef is located along a large rock wall and drops to 15 to 20 metres. There is a huge rock formation that has a large swim-through running from east to west called The Cathedral. The cathedral one of the sites highlights is formed by two massive boulders leaning against each other and is covered in sea tulips, sponges and bryozoans. The Cathedrals ceiling is always abundant with sealife. Once you reach the western side it is home to masses of fish; bullseyes, roughies, yellowtail, pike and tailor. There are plenty of starfish, large cuttlefish, wobbegongs and Port Jackson sharks. We find visibility gets much clearer during winter so keep this site in mind for a mid winter dive. Swimming north of the cathedral and following the wall you come across large gutters, frequented by young grey nurse sharks. Note - Watch for strong currents.

Magic Point - Shark Dive

Depth:23m Rating:Green

Magic Point is easily one of Sydney's most iconic dive sites. It is renowned for the large ledge/cave along a wall that starts at 7m and reaches 16m at its base that is home to some truly famous inhabitants, Sydney’s grey nurse sharks.

Historically, the cave has been home to in excess of 30 sharks at a time and has seen them congregrating even to this day. In 2013, Magic Point was designated a protected area from fishing to help the grey nurse shark numbers recover.

But sharks are not the only sea life to discover - divers can see wobbegong, Port Jackson sharks, cuttlefish, bull rays, yellowtail, weedy sea dragons and pineapple fish. In the right season, you might even catch sight of humpback whales and bottlenose dolphins.

North Harbour Aquatic Reserve

Depth:23m Rating:Green

A Marine Protected Area north of a line drawn from North Head to grotto Point.

Depth:20m Rating:Green
