About Silversonic
Silversonic is a modern luxury vessel specially designed for diving and snorkel day trips on the Great Barrier Reef. Design and practical dive / snorkel facilities include a semi submerged aft platform for easy water access. Cruising at 30 knots and delivering two comfortable levels of seating, this vessel is a passengers dream for their once in a lifetime Reef adventure
About the Trip
Your Outer Great Barrier Reef adventure will begin with an (optional) early morning transfer from your accommodation to the boat- this can be from Port Douglas itself, or from both Northern Beaches and Cairns properties. Once checked in you'll board the luxury Silversonic Catamaran. Tea, coffee and a foccacia bread breakfast will be served until departure. Once underway detailed certified and introductory dive briefings are given. After a smooth but fast trip to the Outer Reef, look forward to visiting 3 sites on the Agincourt Ribbon Reef system and spending a leisurely 5 hours at play. The 'Agincourt Ribbon Reef System' is made up of 19 actual dive sites. Enjoy three different environments in the one day and three different types of dives. Before each dive you will be given a thorough dive briefing. All dives on Silversonic are guided by the professional staff to maximise your dive experience. Certified divers can enjoy up to 3 dives, with introductory divers able to do a second dive. Onboard, your crew will encourage you to relax and enjoy the comfort of Silversonic with its full bar facilities, fresh water showers, airconditioning and a delicious hot and cold lunch for hungry adventurers. There's morning and afternoon tea as well and the spacious deck areas are just ideal for sharing a cold drink and tales of your adventure. By 3pm the Silversonic cruises back towards Port Douglas in time for a 4.30pm departure.
Snorkellers
Snorkellers joining this itinerary are well looked after. Adventure snorkellers can explore spectacular coral formations and underwater gardens awash with vibrantly coloured marine creatures. Gear hire for snorkellers includes mask, fins and snorkel. When in the water you will have the use of pool noodles and flotation devices also. You will be shown around the reef by Silversonics professional Reef guide, informing you of all the coral and marine life during your interactive expedition over shallow reef formations. Up to 2 Discover Scuba Dives are available for snorkellers
Silversonic has one of the few permits available from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority that allows our guests to swim with dwarf minke whales if encountered – a truly unforgettable experience!
