This course is designed to train certified divers to safely:
Use nitrox breathing gas with an oxygen percentage ranging from 22 percent to 40 percent.
Plan dives within modified No Decompression units using a programable personal nitrox dive computer or by using dive planning software.
Describe the hazards of handling high-oxygen gas mixtures, and the basic requirement for cleaning scuba gear for high-oxygen environments (i.e. mixes up to 40% oxygen)
Calculate the Maximum Operating Depth of an analyzed nitrox breathing gas at a target depth between 6 meters/20 feet and 40 meters/130 feet and a partial pressure of oxygen between 1.0 and 1.6 bar.
Understand the relationship between oxygen partial pressure and NOAA time limits to determine oxygen CNS loading.
List the signs and symptoms of Central Nervous System oxygen toxicity.
Understand how to calibrate a simple oxygen analyzer and use it to measure O2 percentage in a cylinder and to familiarize themselves with the standard procedures for gas analysis.
Demonstrate how to label an analyzed diving cylinder properly.

Fitness to Dive
You must review Dive Medical Requirements and Fitness to Dive information before the commencement of the course.

If you have answered "yes" to any question on your dive medical form, you are required to provide us with a signed document, stating that you are "fit to dive" from a medical practitioner. This must be provided no less than 7 days before your course start date. Please email a copy of your medical here.
The instructor always has the final say if a dive medical is required
Terms and Conditions
Cancellations, transfers or non-attendance
If you cancel your nitrox course, on or within 3 days of the start date, no refund will be given.
If you cancel your nitrox course with more than 3 days notice, a refund will be offered, less $100.
If you fail to attend your course, no refund will be given; rebooking will be at full cost.
You may transfer your nitrox course once, free of charge, with more than 3 days notice.
Transfers made between 24hrs and 3 days of the start date will incur a $100 fee.
Any cancellations made within 24hrs of your course start time will result in a forfeit of the course, and rebooking will be at full cost.
If an emergency medical condition manifests within 24hrs of your course start time, proof must be provided to transfer your course at the reduced rate of $100.00.
If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and temporarily prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply.
If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and permanently prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply.
If you fail to complete the course during the scheduled time, a double boat dive must be purchased at the standard rate to dive again.

Failure to adhere to all of the pre-course requirements found on the course overview page (including completion of online training prior to start date) will result in cancellation of the course. No refund will be given, and rebooking will be at full cost.
All courses must be completed within 90 days of the original start date.

Transfers made between 24hrs and 14 days of the start date will incur a $100 fee. If the new course is of a higher value than the original booking, the difference must also be paid. No exceptions.

If you have indicated yes to any of the questions on the Dive Medical. then one will need to be provided at time of booking or 14 days prior to the course start date, stating you are fit to dive unconditionally. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the course and rebooking will be at full cost.
All verbal instructions are in English only and you are required to be proficient in English. No translation sevices are available or can be used during the course and other students cannot translate on behalf of the instructors.
You may transfer a course to a friend or family member at least 24hrs before the start time for a $100 rebooking fee.
If you fail to complete the course during the scheduled time, the course will be forfeit and full payment is required to rebook.

You must be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes. Failure to perform these swim tests within the allocated time frame will result in course cancellation without refund and rebooking will be at full cost.
