15th September Sydney Dive Report

The two dives today were most enjoyable.  The first dive was at North Bondi, where we headed east to the very tip of the point (past Ben Buckler):  this produced a sensational dive.  The visibility was 35+ metres and clear as glass.  This meant that schools of fish with no beginning nor end seemed like clouds in the sky above us.  We traversed deep fissures, rock plateaus, swim thoughs, and kelp beds.  Elsewhere we passed through thick barriers of fish going from one species to another.  At one point, Pj's seemed arranged in front of us as if to be compared and admired.  The combined effect of the topography and superabundance of fish made it feel like we were exploring an unknown land.  Our second dive was at Old Man's Hat where divers were able to see balling Catfish, more PJ's, more Yellow Tail, and two Weedy Sea Dragons!  All of this happened under an amazing sunny sky.  As we were leaving Old Man's Hat, eight or so dolphins cavorted at the back of the boat - a memorable end to an unforgettable days diving.

PS Needless to say, words cannot describe how good it was.
