Harbour shots

One of the treats in store for those who go whale-watching in the afternoons can be to see a glorious winter sunset when they return to the Harbour.

Sometimes whales will come into Sydney Harbour. Here we have a shot of a humpback whale sounding just off the Hornby Light at South Head.

Southern Right Whales were hunted almost to extinction in the 19th and 20th centuries.
We don't know how many there are today but they are very rare.
