Divers now have access to a dive computer and daily watch with unheard-of capabilities thanks to the Shearwater Research Teric. There are many watch faces, customizable colour schemes that you may use to match your style, air integration for up to two gases, freediving mode, technical and recreational dive modes, OC and CC, 3D compass, programmable timers, alarms, and stopwatch... Additionally, Shearwater Cloud is seamlessly integrated.
With a design factor similar to a wristwatch, the Teric dive computer integrates the robust Shearwater Research feature set. Without needing hoses, the Teric can show the cylinder gas pressure using up to two optional wireless transmitters. Although not included, a wireless transmitter is an additional option.
A full-featured technical dive computer designed with leisure divers in mind is the Shearwater Research Teric. The Teric has three-axis tilt-compensated digital compass, open-circuit and closed-circuit Air, Nitrox, and Trimix mixed gas capability. It has up to five Air, Nitrox, or Trimix gases and Recreational, Gauge, OC Tech, and CC/BO modes. Additionally, it incorporates a brand-new Freediving Mode with ascent/descent indicators and customizable sample and logging speeds.
The Shearwater Teric has four buttons and uses situational adjustable logic in the menus and buttons, making it incredibly user-friendly. This dive computer has easily customizable, and one of its four buttons can be set up to provide quick access to various tools, such as a compass, stopwatch, countdown timer, etc. The Teric can monitor up to two pressure transmitters in two distinct tanks and allows wireless gas pressure integration with tracking tank gas pressures (optional transmitters required). There are haptic and audio alarms that can be turned off to not disturb nearby divers.
The Shearwater Teric has a wireless rechargeable battery and a wireless induction charger station built into the design. The built-in battery should last for five (5) years and can be changed at one of the Shearwater factory-authorized service locations. Shearwater advises using their charging platform, although flat mats that adhere to the Qi wireless-charging standard can also charge the Teric (including the latest iPhones and many Android phones).
The Shearwater Teric features a 35 mm (1.39 in) full-colour AMOLED information screen. Its brightness levels can be controlled by pressing a single button. The Teric offers comprehensive information displays of all necessary stop times during a decompression dive. Based on a "look ahead" at anticipated gas switches, the Teric can provide time-to-surface information. Any mix of oxygen, nitrogen, and helium is supported for various gas definition presets. If a missed stop or climb rate violation occurs, the Teric will NOT "lockout."
Following the dive, the Teric connects to the Shearwater Cloud dive log manager, which works with MS Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android devices, using next-generation Bluetooth Smart Ready™. Through the Teric's Bluetooth wireless interface, the dive log management offers firmware updates and log downloads.
