Divemaster Orientation

The PRO DIVE Divemaster Course is a practical based program where you will learn to run and lead, shore dives, boat dives, weekend and overseas dive trips as well as assist on dive courses. A tailored itinerary will be put together for you, so you can meet the course requirements. This course is available either on a part time or full time basis.

Itinerary


Time Frame

Course can be completed either part time or full time and includes the below training.

Course starts with a one weekend Orientation with runs 8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.

  • Knowledge Development – Home Study and Workshops
  • Water Skills Development
  • Practical Experience guiding certified divers on Shore, Night and Boat Dives.
  • Dive Site Mapping
  • Assist on 4 Shore Dives
  • Assist on 4 Boat Dives
  • Assist on 2 Open water courses
  • Assist on 1 Adventures in Diving
  • Assist on 1 refresher

Certification Overview

  1. Dive Guide Certification

  3. DiveMaster Certification

 

Requirements


  • Over 18 years of age
  • Rescue Certification
  • First Aid
  • Oxygen provider
  • 40 dives to commencing the Dive Master training

Note you need to have evidence of at least 5 deep dives, Night dives and Navigation dives prior to Divemaster certification or alternatively those specialty ratings

Terms and Conditions


Cancellations, transfers or non-attendance

  1. If you cancel your course, on or within 14 days of the start date, no refund will be given.
  2. If you cancel a course with more than 14 days notice, a refund will be offered, less $100
  3. If you fail to attend your course, no refund will be given; rebooking will be at full cost.
  4. You may transfer your course to a new date once, free of charge, with more than 14 days' notice. Additional amendments will attract an AUD100 fee per person, per date change.
  5. Transfers made between 24hrs and 14 days of the start date will incur a $100 fee. If the new course is of a higher value than the original booking, the difference must also be paid. No exceptions.
  6. Any cancellations made within 24hrs of your course start time will result in forfeit of the course and rebooking will be at full cost.
  7. If an emergency medical condition manifests within 24hrs of your course start time, proof must be provided in order to transfer your course at the reduced rate of $100.00.
  8. If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and temporarily prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply.
  9. If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and permanently prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply.
  10. If you have indicated yes to any of the questions on the Dive Medical. then one will need to be provided at time of booking or 14 days prior to the course start date, stating you are fit to dive unconditionally. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the course and rebooking will be at full cost.
  11. All verbal instructions are in English only and you are required to be proficient in English. No translation sevices are available or can be used during the course and other students cannot translate on behalf of the instructors.
  12. You may transfer a course to a friend or family member at least 24hrs before the start time for a $100 rebooking fee.
  13. If you fail to complete the course during the scheduled time, the course will be forfeit and full payment is required to rebook.
  14. All fees are per person

Course requirements

  1. Failure to adhere to all of the pre-course requirements found on the course overview page (including completion of any online training) will result in cancellation of the course. No refund will be given, and rebooking will be at full cost.
  2. You must be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes. Failure to perform these swim tests within the allocated time frame will result in course cancellation without refund and rebooking will be at full cost.
  3. All courses must be complete within 90 days of the original start date.

Age

  1. Our standard Learn to Dive programs are for 18yrs+
  2. Under 18's must have a parental waiver signed by parent/guardian on day one of the course.
