PRO DIVE runs a  Rescue Course every month. The  Rescue Course is the one of the most interesting and enjoyable diving courses. A great way to boost your confidence levels and improve your dive knowledge

About the Rescue Course

The PRO DIVE Rescue Diver Course 'raises the notch' in divers' self-confidence by introducing them to rescue skills in and out of the water. By the end of this course, you will be able to competently and confidently assess a given rescue situation, propose, then action a plan of attack to reduce risk to a distressed diver. Learn how to administer EAR, master CPR and understand accident prevention.

The PRO DIVE Rescue Diver course is an important and crucial step in the development of a diver whose desire is to expand their knowledge and experience beyond the recreational level. Successful completion is also a prerequisite for all PRO DIVE leadership training (Divemaster and Assistant Instructor). The PRO DIVE  Rescue course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for individuals to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations, render proper first aid and qualify for Divemaster training.

What else do you need to know?

  • Requirements - You need to be OpenWater Certified and you must bring your certification with you.
  • First Aid - You will need to have completed First Aid and Resuscitation training within the last 12mths
  • Oxygen ProviderYou will need to have completed Oxygen Provider training within the last 12mths
  • Additional Gear requirements - pocket mask, safety sausage and dive whistle
  • Equipment Provided - Tanks, weight belt, weights.
  • Gear Hire - is available and includes one piece wetsuit, buoyancy vest, regulator with dive computer. Snorkelling gear is not included.
  • What you need to bring - Sunscreen, swimmers, a towel, plenty of water, lunch, Certification Cards & Log book
  • Fit to Dive - Please take time to review the Dive Medical Requirements and Fitness to Dive information.
  • Minimum age to participate - is 18 years.
  • Transportation - is provided from Dive Center to Dive Sites

Before Booking Your Rescue Course

A pre requisite of the rescue course is that you need to have current First Aid, CPR and Oxygen Provider Course cetificates. You needs there before the start of your course

Terms and Conditions


Cancellations, transfers or non-attendance

  1. Courses and/or Vouchers are Non-refundable in line with NSW Fairtrade Guidelines
  2. You may transfer your course to a new date once, free of charge, with more than 7 days' notice. Additional amendments will attract an $100 fee per person, per date change.
  3. Transfers made between 24hrs and 7 days of the start date will incur a $100 fee. If the new course is of a higher value than the original booking, the difference must also be paid. No exceptions.
  4. Any cancellations made within 24hrs of your course start time will result in forfeiting the course, and rebooking will be at full cost.
  5. If an emergency medical condition manifests within 24hrs of your course start time, proof must be provided in order to transfer your course, fees may apply and a medical form from a licensed diving practitioner may be required. If the new course is of a higher value than the original booking, the difference must also be paid. No exceptions.
  6. If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and temporarily prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply. A medical form from a licensed diving practitioner may be required. If the new course is of a higher value than the original booking, the difference must also be paid. No exceptions.
  7. If a medical condition manifests outside of 24hrs and permanently prevents you from completing the course, the above conditions apply. 
  8. If you have indicated yes to any of the questions on the Dive Medical. Then one will need to be provided at the time of booking or 7 days before the course start date, stating you are fit to dive unconditionally. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the course and rebooking at full cost.
  9. All verbal instructions are in English only, and you must be proficient in English. No translation services are available or can be used during the course, and other students cannot translate on behalf of the instructors.
  10. You may transfer a course to a friend or family member at least 24hrs before the start time for a $100.00 rebooking fee.
  11. If you fail to complete the course during the scheduled time, the course will be forfeited, and full payment is required to rebook.
  12. All fees are per person.

Course requirements

  1. Failure to adhere to all of the pre-course requirements found on the course overview page (including completion of any online training) will cancel the course. No refund will be given, and rebooking will be at full cost.
  2. You must swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes. Failure to perform these swim tests within the allocated time frame will result in course cancellation without refund, and rebooking will be at full cost.
  3. Failure to pass the skill requirements within the allocated time frame will prevent you from progressing on the course and rebooking with be at full cost.
  4. All courses must be completed within 90 days of the original start date.
