Medical
- Before the session, fill in the self-assessment Student Diver Medical Declaration. Read about dive medicals.
- A “yes” to any question means you need a dive medical certificate saying you’re fit to dive.
- The medical must be done before you start, and be no more than 90 days old.
Dive training starts with the standard recreational diver medical questionnaire, the same wherever you train. What it involves, and when you need a doctor. Each trip operator’s own medical and waiver requirements are emailed with your booking confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a refresher?
If it’s been a while since your last dive and you feel a little rusty, a refresher is a good idea before diving the reef. There’s no set time out of the water that makes one compulsory; it’s your call.
Who runs the refresher?
Quicksilver Dive, part of the Quicksilver Group, in Port Douglas. Pro Dive sells the session; there’s no Pro Dive shop in Port Douglas.
