PRO DIVE Sydney Divemaster Steps

STEP ONE

PREREQUISITES

• Open Water Diver
• 4 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS (IN ORDER)

1. One (1) double shore dive
2. Advanced course + EAN course
3. Two (2) double shore dives
4. One (1) double boat dive
5. Deep 40 course
6. Three (3) double boat dive

STEP TWO

PREREQUISITES

• Deep 40 + EAN
• 24 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS (IN ORDER)

1. First aid, CPR and Advanced Resuscitation for dive pros
2. Rescue course
3. Complete ten (10) shore dives with a buddy without a dive leader (equipment is included and can be arranged using the Trainee Gear Hire voucher)
4. Create a dive map (see examples) of a section of one (1) of the following:
   1. Shelley Beach
   2. Camp Cove
   3. Gordons Bay
   4. Bare Island

STEP THREE

PREREQUISITES

• Rescue Diver
• >34 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS (IN ORDER)

1. Divemaster orientation weekend
   1. Present completed dive site map
   2. Swim fitness assessments
   3. Rescue skills review
   4. Scuba skills evaluation
   5. Knots evaluation
   6. Deep, navigation and children & diving workshops
2. SISOSCB007 Inspect and fill scuba cylinders
3. BSBWHS211 – Contribute to the health and safety of self and others
4. Dive Centre Operations
5. Working on Scuba Vessels

STEP FOUR

PREREQUISITES

• Step 3
• >34 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS (IN ORDER)

1. Observe a dive leader on eight (8) dives with a dive professional:
   1. Log the dives in your ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > Dive log
   2. Ensure you write the instructor/dive leader's name in the comment section and what your role was
2. Lead ten (10) dives with a dive professional with minimal intervention of the supervising instructor:
   1. Log the dives in your ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > Dive log
   2. Ensure you write the instructor/dive leader's name in the comment section and what your role was
3. Pass four (4) dive briefing evaluations
   1. Evaluation forms to be uploaded in ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > Documents
4. Pass four (4) dive guiding evaluations
   1. Evaluation forms to be uploaded in ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > Documents

STEP FIVE

PREREQUISITES

• Step 4
• >52 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS (IN ORDER)

1. Observe a dive instructor during two (2) confined water training sessions:
   1. Log the dives in your ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > dive log
   2. Ensure you write the instructor/dive leader's name in the comment section and what your role was
2. Observe a dive instructor on eight (8) open water training dives
   1. Log the dives in your ISC Student Portal > Divemaster > dive log
   2. Ensure you write the instructor/dive leader's name in the comment section and what your role was
3. Divemaster Evaluation

STEP SIX

PREREQUISITES

• Step 5
• >60 dives logged

REQUIREMENTS

1. Receive signed medical clearance by an appropriately licensed physician (e.g. Dr Harry @ Bondi Rd Medical Centre)
2. Pass the Divemaster exam
3. Upload all documentation to ISC Student Portal > Divemaster
4. Log all training dives in ISC Student Portal > Divemaster
5. Review progress with a training manager for certification, email training@prodive.com.au

Final sign off will be issued once you have achieved all requirements set by ISC, SafeWork and PRO DIVE Sydney.
