Hamish simplified the theory and gear aspects of diving really succinctly, so we could get straight into doing the underwater skills and spend a decent amount of time just enjoying the spot. Feel ready now to go back without an instructor after three diveless years since gettting the certification. I called and asked for the time of teh course as the email from ProDive lists 2 different times (2pm and 9am). The man on the phone told me 9am, but it was actually meant to be 2pm as we found when we got to the shop. They arrange a last-minute instructor instructor who rushed through everything as he had another dive to get to in the afternoon, which did not make me feel comfortable. I’m a teacher and I thought the presentation at the start was a little too unstructured. Ella knew her stuff, but there was lack of energy in the presentation. It was just like we were ticking boxes going through the motions. For the dive itself she was great - much more in her element. Unfortunately we ended up doing the refresher at Freshwater which was pretty nerve-racking for me as I was expecting a nice calm Shelly Bay to walk into as I had not dived for over 20 years.
