Mat was brilliant instructing us on our deep dive. He was very knowledgeable and explained the theory to us in a way that everyone could easily understand. He is a pro at making puns and dad jokes too which made the day all the more enjoyable. Mat was very professional in his teaching and made us feel very at ease at getting down past 30 metres. Another great experience with the Pro Dive team from start to finish. We would have loved to have made De Why Wide but bow to the greater experience and knowledge of the capitano who deemed it unsafe. Our instructor really knew his shit and looked after us very well. I had Tony P as my instructor for the deep course and I wasnt impressed. Our first dive he took a good 10 minutes to get down to the bottom and when he finally did, he took another 10 minutes to tie a line to the anchor as a nav tool so we didn’t get lost. We then went over a rock and down to 28m where he gathered us around. We had to write our last name backwards and then he grabbed our computer hands and put them into a hole so that we would get to 30m. Then we went back to the anchor and started our ascent. I studied for this course and took it very seriously given the depth we were to dive at. On the day the dive was to 25m, which I have done before without study or training.
