Snorkellers can venture into the water at any time during the day. Day 2  2nd Day At Sea Snorkellers are also welcome to Try Scuba Diving, an introductory dive during your time on the reef. You will book this on board and you will be able to  do several of these before returning to port Day 3 Last Day at Sea Disembark  4.30pm During this trip, the boat will have moved to different reefs. Lunch is served as the boat cruises back to Cairns About The Great Barrier Reef The Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder of the world and is a declared World Heritage site. It encompasses 350,000 sq kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean and is made up of 2,900 individual reefs and 71 coral cays. Its ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet including 1500 species of fish, 350 different corals, 4,000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges. The Best way to see the Great Barrier Reef There is no doubt that the best way to really experience the Great Barrier Reef is to stay out on the reef for a few days. You will find much more time to relax and really enjoy yourself and ultimately more time for snorkelling with our 3 day/ 2 night liveaboard option plus the fact it offers great value for money. Almost Daily Departures With 3 identical live onboard vessel's Pro Dive are able to depart every day except Tuesdays About Pro Dive's Liveaboards Pro Dive Cairns' Scuba Pro 1,11 & 111. These vessels are 25 metres (80 feet) in length with private amenities for every 2 cabins, they are centrally air-conditioned, light and airy. There are 2 large decks, one for scuba diving and snorkel gear and one strictly for sun tanning and relaxing. These vessels are the only purpose built outer reef dive liveaboards operating in the area. There are a total of 16 Cabins which sleep a maximum of two per cabin.   There are  2 double and 14 twin (bunk style) cabins with private amenities for every 2 cabins. Single travellers are accommodated in twin berth cabins, sharing with another guest on board. If you would like a private cabin, a single supplement will apply - select the Inclusions and Exclusions Tab on the top of this page . What else they need to know Snorkellers will  be offered the opportunity to complete introductory dives onboard Cost is $75.00 per dive Minimum requirements is that you can swim and you will be required to complete the Standard PADI Medical statement. If you have or do suffer from Asthma, diabetis epilepsy, high blood pressure , have had any injury to your lungs, ears or sinus you would not be able to participate without a clearance from a Diving Medical Practitioner. All snorkellers are issued with a wetsuit mask, fins and snorkel and will have the use of pool noodles and floats when in the water All snorkellers are supervised by the Dive Deck Supervisors. You will need to bring your own towels Additional cost is the EMC/Fuel Levy of $60.00 per person

• Underwater Sony digital camera hire: AUD$40 per dive/ snorkel, including images being copied to CD.
• Introductory Dive - AUD$50. You will be required to sign a medical statement.  Asthma and some other medical conditions can prevent you from diving.
• There is an additional fee of AUD$60 per person which includes AUD$16.50 Government Management Charge as well as a Port Departure Tax and administration costs.

Itinerary

TRIP ITINERARY 
Night Before Departure - "Reef Teach" Marine Biology Presentation, Main Arcade, 2nd Floor 85 Lake Street Cairns. This is an optional 2.5hr marine biology presentation where you'll learn about the reef and the fish you'll meet on the Great Barrier Reef. (Additional cost)  - Not available on Sunday or Monday evenings

We recommend that you reconfirm your booking on PH: 4031 5255 or call into our retail store on the corner of Grafton and Shields Street (4031 6681) at least 48 hours prior to your date of departure. This will also give you the opportunity to advise us of your accommodation details in Cairns so that we can arrange transfers for you. You can organise your gear at the Retail Shop anytime between 4pm � 6:45pm the night before your departure for the boat.

 DAY 1 - Snorkelling The Outer Great Barrier Reef

06:15 Check-In at Dive Shop, cnr Shields and Grafton  Streets, Cairns
07:00 Depart Cairns for 3-days 2-nights of fantastic diving/snorkelling on Australia's Great Barrier Reef
11:00 Your first dive before lunch is on "Petaj Bombie" at Milln Reef - this site is a perfect introduction to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, relaxed and varied
12:45 Lunch is served - Hearty soup with an array of fresh salads, cold meats and bread rolls
14:30 Remaining at Milln Reef, head off and discover more delights at "Petaj", once you have completed your dive the vessel moves on to the next site
16:30 After an afternoon of Snorkelling or relaxing it is time for the 3rd dive, on "Swimming Pools" with its lagoon like features, clear turquoise water, colourful corals and dazzling marine life
18:00 Dinner, the menu changes each trip, however it will be wholesome, hot and of course lots of it. Dessert is served after the night dive
19:30 Your first night dive is on once again at "Swimming Pools", however the reef comes alive, keep a close eye out for our sleeping turtles, bright crustaceans and the occasional reef shark

DAY 2 - More Great Snorkelling

07:00 The vessel moves for an early morning dive. "Whale Bommie" a large coral pinnacle separate from the reef, rising from a depth of 22m breaking at the surface. Splendid Gorgonian Fans, Giant Clams and Bump Headed Parrot fish
08:00 After your dive enjoy a hearty breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, bacon and eggs as well as toast and spreads
10:30 After breakfast the vessel moves on to Flynn Reef, and your first dive here is on "Tracy's Bombie", a peninsula jutting out from the Northern end of the reef. "Tracy's" is a very navigable wall dive with sharks resting on the ocean floor, and walls enlivened with an abundance of marine life
12:00 Lunch on the second day is hot pasta with a variety of fresh salads
15:00 After lunch and a snorkel it's time to explore the endless intriguing coral mazes of "Gordons Mooring", excellent visibility, a photographic haven which ends at "Clown Fish City"
18:00 A hot dinner is served before your second night dive
19:30 Being a favourite of most divers, we remain at "Gordons Mooring" for the night dive. At night the mazes close into amazing tunnels that change at every bend. Look out for Brian the turtle, who loves sleeping under the coral ledges in the sand.

DAY 3 - More Snorkelling And Return To Cairns

06:30 The vessel is now moored at "Coral Gardens", a different wall dive with intricate corals climbing the walls, large pelagic fish and schooling Sweet lip endlessly gliding by
07:30 A Hot breakfast accompanied with fresh fruit salad, cereals and toast
09:00 After breakfast the vessel makes its last move on to either Thetford or Pellowe Reefs, Thetford is renowned for many outlying coral bommies, swim throughs and large fish life. Pellowe, for it's exclusiveness, featuring pristine corals, abundance and diversity of marine life
11:00 On your last dive you re-enter at one of the above sites, your Dive Master is able to direct you in a different direction, where the sights are totally different from the last dive. When you surface freshly made sandwiches are served as the vessel heads home for Cairns
16:00 Complimentary accommodation transfers - Cairns and Northern Beaches
19.30 Join fellow passengers and crew at a local restaurant for a farewell dinner if you wish

Important- Dive Medical:
Insufficient dive qualifications and/or some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. Prior to diving you will be asked in writing:

Certified Divers And Snorkellers:
If you intend travelling on board Pro Dive's 3 day 2 night live aboard you will be asked to complete in writing a Pro Dive Cairns "Waiver Release and Indemnity Deed" form. You will be asked "Are you currently suffering from any illness or injury that may be incompatible with diving?" If you answer yes to this question you will then need to obtain a release from your doctor saying that you are fit to dive (this medical release does NOT have to be in accordance with AS4005-1).

This must be acquired PRIOR to departure. If you have any questions about any of these medical requirements please contact us.

Pickup Points:
Please let us know at time of booking where you will be staying Cairns so we can give you a pick up time. If you are unsure at the time of booking, please let us know 48 hours prior to course commencement.
